This afternoon I had to leave the house without socks on. Ordinarily this would not have be so devastating except today I shoved my bare feet into new hard leather dress shoes. The meeting I had rushed into, didn’t go very well and I ended up walking with one of the people with whom I met about about 20 minutes to the nearest subway stop in order to salvage some of the collapse.
